Cocreating Sustainability
Fardem is the oldest company in the group; they produce so-called Heavy Duty packaging since 1884. In various industries, such as the chemical, food, animal feed and fertilizer industries, the products are packaged in large bags. These bags are usually printed with the company name and the content of the package. These prints may be simple, but may also be more complex and contain up to 8 colors. Due to this process of producing, printing and supplying tailor-made plastics, the company from Edam has become a specialist in this market.
Much to everyone’s surprise, the products in the supermarket often bear the invisible Flexpak signature on their packaging! For almost 50 years, Flexpak located in Geldermalsen produces packaging for the food industry, with much passion and pleasure. These may be simple, one color printed packaging materials or even multi-layer high barrier, laminated materials with complex print jobs of eight colors. The company specializes in this process of printing, laminating and further processing until the desired final product has been created. They proudly tell their customers “a jewel on the shelf!”, every day.
It is often still an open secret, but consumers handle the flexible packaging products made by Oerlemans several times a day, every day. Think of the webshop bags and packaging for your bread, meat, cheese, and vegetables and fruit. Among other things, these packaging materials make sure we waste less food, since food will last longer if you package it this way. Besides packaging materials, the company, with factories in Genderen and Giessen in the Dutch province of Brabant, produces various films, especially designed for valuable applications in agriculture and horticulture sectors, such as horticulture and greenhouse cultivation. They have been doing this with passion and pleasure, for more than 50 years!
